Our GLYDE Story

GLYDE® designs and manufactures acoustic sliding door systems, operable wall systems, decorative screens and architectural glazed systems for projects across education, workplace, commercial fit outs, hospitality, healthcare, government, community and specialist architectural environments throughout Australia.

GLYDE® launched the Classique Top Hung Acoustic Slider in late 2019, quickly establishing the system as a strong solution for architects designing flexible, collaborative learning and working spaces.

The original sliding door system was soon followed by Optica acoustic operable walls and GLYDE® Decorative Screens. Today, the range includes top-hung acoustic sliders, bottom-rolling acoustic sliders, solid and glazed operable wall systems, architectural glazed systems, Agile Panels and Evolve sliders with integrated pass door solutions.

GLYDE® systems are designed to deliver smooth and safe operation, meet the needs of future learning and flexible environments, and overcome the limitations of other systems in the market. Systems are developed with acoustic performance, accessibility and considered design in mind, including DDA and AS1428.1 requirements, with glazing compliance in line with AS1288.

GLYDE® systems are independently tested by CSIRO, with acoustic certification available to inform project requirements and system selection. Selected systems also incorporate the GLYDE® Anti-Slam System (GASS) for safer, more controlled operation.

As a 100% Australian designed and manufactured brand, GLYDE® operates its own fabrication facilities and in-house powder coating capability, providing greater control over manufacturing quality, finishes and delivery.

Backed by 70+ years of combined design experience, the GLYDE® team brings deep technical knowledge across architectural glazing, acoustic systems and manufacturing.

Our capability extends across specification, project management and delivery, with CAD drawings, REVIT files (pending release), typical details and an established network of certified specialist installers supporting system integration and project outcomes.

GLYDE® also offers service and maintenance programmes, including competitor systems from Lotus Doors, Hufcor, Dorma, Bildspec and Unifold.

Through our AIA-approved CPD program focused on creating flexible spaces, GLYDE® provides technical guidance around acoustic considerations, DDA compliance, adaptability, safety, sustainability and the selection of acoustic sliding door and operable wall systems.
